Party Guy Records is bringing you back to school with The Future Sounds of North America II (FSONA2). The 13 track compilation is a mix of bubbling house and future sounds. The original FSONA came out in 2010 and saw tracks by amazing up-coming artists (Whom-you-know-now) including Distal, Kid Aloha (Drew Kim of Grown Folk), Clicks & Whistles, Atlantic Connection, and several remixes by artists such as Martin Kemp, Cedaa, and ETC!ETC!. This year, Party Guy Records celebrates their eleventh release with 13 of their closest friends.

The Future Sounds of North America II kicks off with classic dnb flare on Doctor Jeep’s stellar espionage opener “Golden Eye”. The compilation continues to move in full-on house fashion with the one-two punch from Brooklyn’s Broke City residents Dunes’ “4 AM” and Sleepyhead’s “Be There”. Austin, Texas boys Bames drop an airy number “Lobo” midway through the release, beforeTony Quattro comes in with his low-end subtle dancefloor tune “KP’s Ghetto Way”.

The house comes back strong with urban transit sounds of Figgy’s “All Aboard”, echoing a 4am MTA ride to through Brooklyn after a night raving. Djemba Djemba holds down the big West Coast vibe on his heavy bass tune “Chronic Heart Failure”, which has already seen love on RINSE.FM via Plastician. The release closes with poolboy92′s forward-thinking angular number “Rotate” followed by the Principal Dean and Snakefoot collaboration “What You”.

We hope you’ll turn this one up loud and toast the future of dance music. xo

PGR009: Sin City Status – The Clave EP!

PGR009:

Sin City Status – The Clave

Release Date: 10/23/12

1. Sin City Status – The Clave

2. Sin City Status – Cut Two

Listen on SoundCloud

The 9th release on Party Guy Records comes from Sin City Status. The Amsterdam-based duo Victor and Noah produced a two track EP of pure bongo porn minimal. Stripped down and banging at the same time, the tracks The Clave and Cut Two are the essence of MNML. Blended with lots of 808’s this music brings you back to the hot Summers of the 90’s.

The Clave
With using the funky sounds of the Roland 808, the young producers of Sin City Status created a modern UK Bass track with the influences of the House scene from back in the days. The official video has the images to support that vibe. The Clave has been played all over the world, and went crazy at the famous Paris Social Club.

The Clave/Cut Two is the first official release by Sin City Status and now for sale at your digital record shop.

Sin City Status
These two fine young men have slowly but steadily been working their way up in the Dutch electronic music scene. Sin City Status’ music can be charactarized as very melodic and yet stylishly minimalistic, remeniscent of the way dubstep started it when it evolved from dub. These guys bring back an old school feel with their sound that you can also hear in their choice of music. Not content with sticking to just one genre they prove they can do more with the subwoofer. Playing and producing cross genre tracks in a bass dominated environment.

Release Date: 04/10/12

2. HxdB – FLunK

3. HxdB & Cairo – Once Bytten

4. Cairo – Sudden Expectations

Listen on SoundCloud

The second 2012 release on Party Guy Records is the massive transcontinental collaborative effort between two brilliant producers that go by the names of HxdB & Cairo. Canada’s HxdB has been on every forward-thinking label’s radar over the past 3 years. His affiliations run deep, with tracks penned down to Surefire Sound, Tectonic, Freshmore, Palms Out, Car Crash Set, Echodub, and so on. Australia’s Cairo is no amateur either, with ties to labels including Silverback Records and Gradient Audio. Fans of DFRNT, Jacques Greene, Sepalcure, and Sleepyhead are sure to enjoy this release.

The release starts off with with both HxdB and Cairo on the 808-induced track “Bassix”. The track starts off subtle and airy, like a train departing the station, and picks up into a fiery dancefloor riddim. HxdB continues our journey on FLunK, a pulsating bouncy tune. The two meet again on the third track “Once Bytten”, which is one hell of a shuffler. The release finishes with a signature Cairo sound as he beautifully plays with an acapella sample that murmurs, “I don’t want to be alone…” over melodic chords…absolutely brilliant!

Support From: ARCTIC, Blind Prophet, Chrissy Murderbot, Cousin Cole, DNAEBEATS, Gage, Kid Simple, Kon, MA1, Manikan, Mike Hindle, Mista Men, Mirror State, Nightwave, Octa Push, Okota, Philthkids, Resketch, ROKO, Tony Goods, Wascal, Zenodub

PGR006: HGLDT & Hissy Fit – Last Summer Dub

PGR006:

HGLDT & Hissy Fit – Last Summer Dub
Release Date: 11/01/11

1. HGLDT & Hissy Fit – Last Summer Dub (Original Mix)
2. HGLDT & Hissy Fit – Last Summer Dub (Martin Kemp Remix)

Listen on SoundCloud

The sixth release on Party Guy Records is a collaboration between two Montreal residents HGLDTHISSY FIT titled “Last Summer Dub”. The chopped-and-screwed vocal loops and deep bass grooves remind us at Party Guy Records of club nights we spent in Montreal, at places like Aria and Stereo, where we would dance all night to all-encompassing beats, that held our attention until the sun had well-risen. As this “Indian Summer” continues, let us reflect on what a summer it has been, with one more bangin, summer groove…

The title track, Last Summer Dub, is sure to be a modern classic. With cross-over appeal to house DJs, as well as the speed garage connoisseurs, this 4×4 journey captures the essence of long summer nights and starry skys. A dreamy soundscape is created as the funky bass weaves in and out of the kicks and snares, making the listener wish it wouldn’t end (just like summer).

On the flip, Martin Kemp is back with the full UK sound giving the track with an absolute mental remix of the original. A dark, twisting shuffle with a serious bass line punches through eerily throughout the track. Keeping many elements of the original but completely switching the vibe, Kemp proves again why he is someone to keep on your radar.

Sit back, relax, and let that summer jam play out one more time..
